My experience and philosophy
I have 30 years practical experience in finding and implementing creative solutions.
My Leadership experience as a Creative and Editorial Senior Manager at the BBC, including Commissioner of Current Affairs, Executive Producer of factual and journalistic series, and Editor of Newsnight, This World and Correspondent.
I led large diverse factual bases and teams, implementing many technical, creative and personnell changes and structures, and devising new strategies for audience benefit.
I have been an investigative journalist, a field producer, a programme maker, a creative team leader, a people manager, strategist, board member, a mother and a volunteer.
I love working with teams and individuals - seeing them develop and progress - which is why I decided to train in Coaching. I first encountered Coaching in 2004 when I was part of the BBC's leadership programme at Ashridge Business School. It informed my leadership style and the way I managed teams and individuals. After training with the AOEC and joining the International Coaching Federation and the EMCC, I now coach individual clients in leadership and management positions, including in the social sector, as well as working with the Shaw Trust as a Volunteer Coach on their work and health programme. My style is direct and solution-focussed. People bring so many issues to coaching that I've developed my four packages around what I see most.
As a media consultant, clients have included UK Broadcasters, commissioners, international digital content makers, Independent Production companies and charities. I work to get the best content outcomes, and help teams communicate better and manage change. I am a Executive Producer, ensuring successful development, storytelling and project delivery. I also provide solutions and problem-solving when something has gone wrong.
